Pillow Bearing Details:
Pillow block bearings are made up of a housing and a bearing. A lot of pillow blocks feature a bearing that can be replaced, known as an insert bearing. Pillow block bearings support shafts that run parallel to the mounting surface. This makes them a very simple but vital part of conveyor systems, industrial fans, farm equipment, jib cranes, car washes, and much more. The bearings that go with pillow block housings are designed to self-align to make up for any misalignment in angles. Pillow blocks come in various types of bearings, such as Plain Bearings, Ball Bearings, Roller Bearings, Tapered-Roller Bearings, Spherical-Roller Bearings, Cylindrical-Roller Bearings, Needle-Roller Bearings, and Hydrodynamic Bearings. Pillow block bearing housings can be either split or solid, sometimes called "unsplit." A solid housing is a single unit, whereas with a split housing you can remove the cap (the top part) from the base.
Features and Lubrication:
Rational Self-Alignment, High Load-Carrying Capacity, Superior Sealing Performance, Reasonable structure, and aligning with the most appropriate, Grease supplement simple. Bearing casings featuring pillow block constructions are equipped with a dispenser for lubricant positioned at the top of the shell. This feature permits the dispensing of lubricant into the bearing shell without it being dispensed directly onto the bearing. Nonetheless, the process of lubrication may still encounter issues. It's crucial to select the appropriate lubricant suitable for the task at hand. This involves considerations such as the amount of moisture the bearing is subjected to from its surroundings, the impact of temperature on the viscosity of the lubricant, providing sufficient lubrication for the metal parts of the bearing, and the correct volume and force of the lubricant to be applied. The diameter and load of the shaft are the two most important considerations in sizing your pillow block bearing. Check your documentation for the shaft. If you are replacing the bearing, you should replace the bearing housing as well to ensure a "factory fit" and to eliminate any mismatch in wear which will affect performance and efficiency.
