Rod End Bearing Details:

A joint bearing is a mechanical articulating joint, sometimes referred to as a heim joint (North America) or a rose joint (United Kingdom and other countries). These joints are employed wherever a precise articulating joint is needed, such as on the extremities of control rods, steering links, tie rods, etc. Pressed into a circular casing with a threaded shaft connected is a ball swivel that has an aperture to allow a bolt or other connecting hardware to pass through. It is possible for the threaded section to be male or female. Generally speaking, low-speed swing movements-that is, angular movements-are accomplished with articulated bearings. The support shaft and the shaft shell hole are not concentric, therefore tilting (or self-aligning) movements can be executed within a specific angle range due to the spherical nature of the sliding surface. When the degree is large, it can still work normally. It mainly bear radial load, but also can withstand a certain amount of axial load which has little friction, high limiting speed, many type of size and forms. It's suitable for precision instruments, low noise motors, automobiles, motorcycles and general machinery, the machinery industry, the most common kind of bearing.

A stiff bearing application can be accomplished by preloading and adjusting one single row tapered roller bearing against another tapered roller bearing.
